At first thought driving to Austin, TX for SXSW was going to be hell, 19 hours crammed in a rental car through the desert non stop with Alex and Glenn. Seriously it turned out to be one of the best road trips I’ve ever had. Here’s a couple of random pictures I took of people and friends…
Right when we got into town we met up with Nick and Skeme
U-N-I. I see you Anoush don’t be scared, soon you’ll owe me $100
Below is the link for Fashawn’s project “The Antidote,” which was compiled and produced by The Alchemist. It’s crazy to hear this 20 year old kid spit, I swear sometimes he sounds like he’s been rapping for over 20 years. What makes it even better is it’s over some old funk tracks that The Alchemist chopped up. Dope!
As you and your friends grow older you start noticing you start growing apart, you start leading your own lives and the communication sometimes ends. The cool thing is whenever you make contact with each other again true friends make it feel like you just talked to them yesterday. Even though that’s a great feeling, it’s also good to know the internet is there to help keep you updated on what your friends are doing. This project Exile has been working on is a great example. Here’s a great way you can check out what this madman has been up to- This podcast has some never before instrumentals as well as upcoming material he produced which will also feature some appearances from Alchemist, Evidence, Blu & more. Also look out for his upcoming album with Fashawn, Boy Meets World drops October 20th. With the “OK” from Hecktik and Fashawn I’ll post one of my favorite tracks before the album comes out.
For years I always backed Fashawn with every company I’ve worked for. I knew he was the truth when I first heard him and he probably was only 17 years old! ha. I grew up with Exile in the same city, always new he was amazing with the first Emanon shit but never would of thought these two would be working together. I even think I was the one that played cupid with the relationship between the two. No homo. Here’s a interview with em that talks about the up coming album “Boy Meets World.” Check it out!
Also, if you’re not familiar with his music here’s one of my favorite tracks, it’s a old 100 bar (long as hell) freestyle. Kill em!
